Section 508 (of the Rehabilitation Act)
Under Section 508 (29 U.S.C. § 794d), Federal Agencies must give employees with disabilities and members of the public access to information that is comparable to the access available to others. It was enacted to eliminate barriers in information technology, to make new opportunities available for people with disabilities, and to encourage technology development to help achieve these goals.
WCAG 2.1 AA
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 level AA is focused on providing an international technical standard for web content. It has 12 guidelines that are organized under four principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust. The guidelines each have measurable success criteria and three levels of compliance: A, which is the minimum; AA, which is the standard; and AAA, which is the highest. Most strive for level AA (double A), as most AAA standards are for specialized situations.
ACR (Accessibility Conformance Report)
Many organizations require a formal accessibility compliance statement they can publish on a website or make available to customers and users upon request.
