Ablr Works Futures
Ablr Works Futures is designed for current high school students and recent high school graduates (within two years) who are blind and have low vision. The program equips students with transferable skills for opportunities with long-term growth potential. Through a combination of structured curriculum, hands-on experiences, and industry partnerships, participants are equipped to pursue meaningful and sustainable careers.
Program Outline
Spring: The Future of Work
Structure: 8-weeks, one 2-hour live virtual session per week after school, 1-2 hours of independent work per week
In an ever-evolving landscape, staying ahead of the curve is essential. The Future of Work milestone delves into emerging trends shaping the workforce, empowering students to anticipate and adapt to the changing demands of the job market. From exploring the impact of technology and artificial intelligence to understanding the rise of remote work and sustainability initiatives, this milestone offers invaluable insights into the skills and competencies needed to thrive in tomorrow’s workplace. By immersing themselves in discussions with industry experts and engaging in hands-on activities, students gain a deeper understanding of the diverse opportunities available to them, preparing them to carve out a successful career path aligned with their passions and aspirations.
Summer: Teamship
Structure: 3-weeks, 10-12 hours per week, combination of live sessions with team and coaches and independent work to contribute to team success
Collaboration lies at the heart of innovation, and our Teamship milestone provides students with a unique opportunity to harness the power of teamwork while making a tangible impact on real-world challenges. Through our partnership with District C, participants collaborate in diverse teams to tackle complex problems faced by real businesses, honing their communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills along the way. By working alongside peers with varied perspectives and backgrounds, students not only gain valuable insights into the dynamics of teamwork but also cultivate meaningful connections that extend beyond the program. Through this immersive experience, participants emerge as confident and empowered individuals equipped with new skills and resiliency.
Fall: Career Readiness

Students will come away from this milestone with a clear understanding of their potential, how to best leverage their personal brand, and how to advocate for themselves along the way.
